File consists of annotated handwritten prose; photographs of readings by Leon Rooke, Lillian Necakov, and Stephen Zeifman at The Senator, of dinner at 20 Dale Avenue cooked by John Henry Jackson (ex-CFL football player and justice of the peace) with guests including Richard Ford, of a reading at The Senator for Pierre Nepveu, Claire Dé and Jo-Ann Mclaughlin, wife of poet Hayden Carruth, and of supper for Hayden Carruth with Austin Clarke and Priscila Uppal at 20 Dale Avenue. Notebook also includes published reviews of "Barrelhouse Kings" and an account of Callaghan's involvement in a symposium on the Pierre Elliott Trudeau era, annotations to “Conclusion and Concerns to be Addressed” that was part of the program review of the English Department at Atkinson College, and photographs from a reading delivered by Callaghan in Venice, 7 Dec. 1998.
