The project began with interviews with Marjory Smart and Milt Jewell in 1990-1991 to explore the concept of creativity, and was resumed in 2005 when Malyon invited submissions from many people who created original works in different disciplines. The fonds consists of eight audio reels which contain the papers read and proceedings of the seventh annual seminar of the Canadian Association for Irish Studies held at York University in March, 1974. Included on the tapes are a poetry panel of Seamus Heaney and Michael Longley, proceedings of the Yeats Evening, a concert of traditional Irish music, and related material.

Fonds consists of registers of British vessels employed in the coasting trade on Canada's Atlantic coast. One volume records vessels that arrived at Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, between 1876 and 1906, and the other volume lists vessels that departed from this port between 1876 and 1910. The registers include date of entry, rig and name of vessel, the master's name, port of departure or destination, whether the vessel was carrying cargo or ballast, and the number of tons and crew permitted under transire or coasting license.

Fonds consists of more than 60 letters, newsletters, poems, and greeting cards written by Margaret Laurence to Ian and Sandy Cameron, as well as a copy of Laurence's will. The correspondence discusses Laurence's work as a writing instructor and speaker at the University of Toronto, her relationship with other Canadian writers and Clara Thomas, her move from Toronto to Lakefield, and her involvement with the Writers' Union of Canada conference in Ottawa in November 1973. Laurence comments extensively on her own works and her efforts to encourage other writers (including Ian Cameron), her efforts to produce a recording of songs with her lyrics and Cameron's musical score to accompany "The diviners," the film contract based on this novel, and her elation at winning the Molson Prize in 1975. The correspondence also discusses her divorce from Jack Laurence, her relationship with her children, and her views on social and generational change. The correspondence is accompanied by nine vinyl recordings given by Laurence to the Camerons that feature European classical music, African palm wine music, and Ghanian highlife music. The fonds also contains five letters from John Ruskin, the Victorian writer and art critic, to Kate Towney and Arbuthnot Cameron, 1865-1867, regarding Towney's marriage and financial affairs, mineral collecting, and ideas from Ruskin's book, "Modern painters." These letters are accompanied by notes and transcripts, as well as a letter written in 1907 regarding the Ruskin correspondence.

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, reports, financial records, and Bryce M. Taylor's related material of the XV Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee, and the Canadian Olympic Association, (1983-1988), detailing the planning for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. It also includes material from the National Advisory Council on Fitness and Amateur Sport, including correspondence, minutes of meetings, annual reports, (1986-1987). In addition, there is material from the Canadian Gymnastics Association, (1975), and proposals for athletic programmes at York University, including a proposal for football (1967).

Fonds consists of records documenting Bruce Allen Powe's work as a writer of fiction, reviews and articles, his work as Executive Director for the Ontario Liberal Association, and his public relations career and freelance work for Powe Communications. Records include journals, day planners, notebooks, correspondence and e-mail, research files, scrapbooks, manuscripts and other draft writing, and career-related memorabilia. Also included in the fonds are family photographs and personal memorabilia; Powe's M.A. diploma, thesis and related research files; files, memorabilia and photographs pertaining to his World War II military service; and photographs, memorabilia and other records pertaining to Powe's trip to Ghana in March 1957 as associate private secretary to the Canadian Minister of Mines and Technical Surveys.

Fonds consists of records of Pittman's work in film and television and includes scripts, storyboards, correspondence, financial records, publicity material, shooting schedules, edit sheets, research material, grant applications and other related material. It includes photographs taken during the production of a number of his films and audio-visual records in various formats that document the various stages in the making of film and television productions with which Pittman was involved. There is considerable material relating in particular to "Shattered City." The fonds also includes a series of audio recordings of interviews conducted by Pittman for "Saturday Night at the Movies" with film directors including Bernardo Bertolucci, Robert Altman, and Norman McLaren, among others.

Fonds consists of records documenting Brian Freeman’s career as a writer and producer of plays, television and film. Records include scripts, script reports, notes, outlines, correspondence, subject files, promotional materials, photographs and moving image recordings.

Fonds consists of Bonnie Burnard’s research material, notes, manuscript and typescript drafts, galley proofs, cover art and other material related to the Canadian and American editions of her novels "A Good house." The fonds also includes story notes, typescript drafts, proofs, correspondence, cover art and other material that pertain to the writing and revision process for Burnard’s novel "Suddenly." The fonds also consists of edited typescripts, notes and proofs for her short story collections "Women of influence" and "Casino and other stories," typescript drafts for several other short stories Burnard has written, including "Evening at the edge of the water," and items related to her role as the editor for "Stag line: Stories by men." Accession 2017-034 consists of records created by Jan Whitford and Jackie Kaiser of Westwood Creative Artists in their role as agents for Bonnie Burnard, including correspondence and contracts with various publishers and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation regarding the publication and reprinting of Burnard's novels and short stories, and the donation of the Bonnie Burnard fonds to York University.

Fonds consists of records documenting Beverley Salmon's work as an activist and as a North York and Metro Toronto Councillor. Records primarily pertain to subjects including race relations, the Toronto Transit Commission, the building of a subway to York University, and her involvement with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. Records include correspondence, agenda packages, reports, notes, news clippings, and conference material.

Fonds consists of research notes, correspondence, screen plays, draft notes, shot lists, cast lists, crew lists, shooting schedules and other material created and/or accumulated by Zukerman in his work as a producer. Fonds also includes copies of scripts sent to Zukerman for his consideration and personal records including diaries, income tax records and other material.

The fonds consists of material documenting Ben Wicks’s work as a cartoonist, author, public speaker, television personality, humanitarian, and journalist. The records include material related to published books and booklets, original drawings and cartoons, research files, speeches, scrapbooks and clippings, diaries and day planners, published books, and audio recorded oral histories with members of the Jewish diaspora that immigrated to Israel during the 1920s – 1950s. Also included are records pertaining to Ben Wick’s investiture into the Order of Canada and episodes of “Ben Wicks,” an interview format television show that aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) channel in the late seventies, early eighties. 

Fonds consists of correspondence between Captain James R. Allan and Vivien Beer of Strathroy, Ontario before Captain Allan, was killed; press clippings and photographs of Captain Allan and Private Walter Beer while serving in World War I and scenes of various members of the Beer family.
