The fonds consists of records pertaining to Barbara Sternberg's activities as an artist, teacher, writer, and activist. In addition to subject files containing materials related to her films, the fonds includes posters, reviews, catalogues, programmes, research and drafts of unrealized projects, course, project, and grant proposals, as well as publications by and about Sternberg. It also includes conference and workshop materials, pedagogical documents, drafts of Sternberg's Cinema Canada column, materials related to screenings, exhibitions, and festivals, as well as correspondence with friends and colleagues, including contemporary Canadian experimental artist Michael Fernandes and former Canadian Parliamentary Poet Laureate George Elliott Clarke. Records of a personal nature are predominantly limited to correspondence.

The fonds includes extensive correspondence dealing with Callaghan's personal and family relationships, as well as his active involvement with an international community of poets, writers, and artists. Teaching files include course outlines, essay topics, reading lists and bibliographies on North American and Russian literature, examination questions, and notes regarding his teaching methods at York University from 1970 to 2003. Journalism files include research materials and interview transcripts and deal with his travels with Pierre Elliott Trudeau in 1968, the crisis involving the Front de liberation du Quebec and implementation of the War Measures Act in 1970, culture, politics and economics in Quebec, and Callaghan's works of political and social commentary for CTV and CBC. The records of Exile Editions make up a significant portion of the fonds, and include manuscripts for books, page proofs, and correspondence. These files show the creative process in considerable detail, and in particular Callaghan's work as an editor and translator. Administrative records for the publisher consist of catalogues, promotional material, writers' guidelines, grant applications, financial documents, and reviews of publications. Callaghan's endeavours as a travel journalist are documented through research notes, manuscripts for articles, correspondence, and promotional literature from various attractions at the locations he visited, including museums, theatres, and tracks for horse racing, 1978 to 1995. Manuscripts and annotated page proofs for Callaghan's Hogg poems, short stories, novels, memoir, and non-fiction trace the development of these works, and in particular his skill and attention to detail as a wordsmith. Callaghan's involvement with radio and television is represented by a variety of sound and moving image recordings, including audiotapes of his interviews with Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry, videotapes of his television shows for CTV's "W5" and CBC's "Weekend," and original film pertaining to the war in Palestine in 1970, his interview with Angela Davis in 1972, youth culture in California in 1974, John Updike, and "The blues." The fonds also includes considerable material created by or involving Morley Callaghan, including literary agreements, royalty statements, stories by and about Morley Callaghan, manuscripts for several books published by Exile Editions ("Joy in heaven," "The lost and found stories," "The man with the coat," and "A passion in Rome") that provide an understanding of the close working relationship between Morley and Barry Callaghan, letters of sympathy and funeral notices following Morley's death in 1990, and scripts for the CBC movie, "Hemingway vs. Callaghan," 2002-2003. Also included are subject files including literary memorabilia and honorary degrees received.

The fonds consists of material documenting Ben Wicks’s work as a cartoonist, author, public speaker, television personality, humanitarian, and journalist. The records include material related to published books and booklets, original drawings and cartoons, research files, speeches, scrapbooks and clippings, diaries and day planners, published books, and audio recorded oral histories with members of the Jewish diaspora that immigrated to Israel during the 1920s – 1950s. Also included are records pertaining to Ben Wick’s investiture into the Order of Canada and episodes of “Ben Wicks,” an interview format television show that aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) channel in the late seventies, early eighties.

It includes photographs taken during the production of a number of his films and audio-visual records in various formats that document the various stages in the making of film and television productions with which Pittman was involved. There is considerable material relating in particular to "Shattered City." The fonds also includes a series of audio recordings of interviews conducted by Pittman for "Saturday Night at the Movies" with film directors including Bernardo Bertolucci, Robert Altman, and Norman McLaren, among others.

Fonds consists of records documenting Bruce Allen Powe's work as a writer of fiction, reviews and articles, his work as Executive Director for the Ontario Liberal Association, and his public relations career and freelance work for Powe Communications. Records include journals, day planners, notebooks, correspondence and e-mail, research files, scrapbooks, manuscripts and other draft writing, and career-related memorabilia. Also included in the fonds are family photographs and personal memorabilia; Powe's M.A. diploma, thesis and related research files; files, memorabilia and photographs pertaining to his World War II military service; and photographs, memorabilia and other records pertaining to Powe's trip to Ghana in March 1957 as associate private secretary to the Canadian Minister of Mines and Technical Surveys.

The bulk of the records consist of client files which includes correspondence to and from clients; correspondence with publishers, media, sponsors of talks, radio and television producers; publicity material relating to clients including resumes, headshot photographs, schedules, travel arrangements; newspaper clippings; reader's reports; royalty statements; and contracts. There are also audio cassettes and video cassettes of interviews and recordings of the work of some CSWS clients. There is a series of records related to CSWS Ltd. founder, Matie Molinaro, documenting her early life in New York and her work as a war correspondent during the Second World War. Also included is a series devoted to records related to Marshall McLuhan and his estate, long-time clients of CSWS Ltd, which includes correspondence, contracts, notes, drafts, clippings, offprints, photographs, and ephemera.

Fonds consists of notes, drafts and research material related to the publications "The edge of the world," "Emma's dead," "Headstand," "If I knew I'd tell you," "Lovers and other strangers," "Mixed-up grandmas," "The adultery handbook," "Colville's People" and "Cathedral Women," as well as her poem for "Side by side." It also includes personal and professional correspondence, clippings of stories about Malyon and/or reviews of her work, lecture notes and material related to Malyon's readings of her work, grant applications, writer-in-residence application as well as other material that documents her career as a writer.

Accession 2008-032 includes the editorial files for "Imagination in action : thoughts on creativity by painters, sculptors, musicians, poets, novelists, teachers, actors," a book edited by Malyon that was published by Mercury Press in 2007. The project began with interviews with Marjory Smart and Milt Jewell in 1990-1991 to explore the concept of creativity, and was resumed in 2005 when Malyon invited submissions from many people who created original works in different disciplines. The records files include correspondence, edited manuscripts, annotated page proofs, and correspondence with the publisher regarding the contract, design, and promotion of the book.

Accession 2009-044 consists of manuscripts for even-numbered brunches, copy edited page proofs, and promotional material for the book written with bill bissett, "griddle talk : a yeer uv bill n carol dewing brunch" (Talonbooks, 2009), as well as documents relating to Malyon's work as an instructor at the Maritime Writers' Workshop in 1998, her literary readings in 2008, and correspondence with Fred Cogswell and K.D. Miller.

Accession 2016-040 consists of draft manuscripts for a collection of short stories ("Underneath the Water With the Fish") and a book about writing "Writing Matters" as well as promotional material and reviews about previously published work.

Series consists of listings and artist files related to the finalists in the Jean A. Chalmers Award for choreography, an award run by the Dance in Canada Association, and a video collection managed by the Sound and Moving Image Library (SMIL).

Fonds consists of the Danny Grossman Dance Company (DGDC) records generated from development; promotional; and professional associations, government councils, and conference; performance, touring, and educational initiatives activities. Danny Grossman's personal correspondence with family, friends, and industry professionals is also included in the fonds.

Fonds consists of personal and professional correspondence, clippings, programmes and related material that document Grossman's career as a dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company as well as the founding of the Danny Grossman Dance Company. It also includes contracts, grant applications and other financial records, citizenship papers, passports and other collected ephemera.

Fonds consists of records accumulated and created by David Orin Charles pertaining to his involvement in the production of theatre, film and television in Canada and the United States from 1959 to 2011. The records in this fonds document Charles's early work in theatre as an actor, set designer and lighting director, as well as later work as on-set dresser, set decorator, set designer and prop master for films, television and television commercials. These records are primarily scripts and related production materials that were collected or created by Charles, which include photographs, drawings, architectural drawings, crew and cast lists, storyboards, call sheets, research materials, shooting schedules, budget documents, and correspondence.

Fonds consists of the administrative records, artist submissions, promotional material, fund raising, financial and operational records of the Desh Pardesh organization relating to its annual conference and arts festival and its year-round events related to South Asian youth, women's issues, fund raising, community development and anti-racist efforts. In addition to administrative records, the fonds also includes the submissions of local and international South Asian artists, dancers, film makers, poets, playwrights, photographers and other performers, including audio-visual, photographic and written material, as well as promotional packages and brochures. The fonds consists of audio recordings of unedited interviews conducted by Diana Cooper-Clark with major international novelists. Most of these interviews have been published in her two monographs.

The collection consists of the Ontario Folklore Archives which includes student essays and cassettes of folklore in Canada. Subjects discussed in the student essays include folk medicine, folklore from regions in Ontario and Canada (Oshawa, Ontario, Feversham, Ontario, Newfoundland), from cultural groups (Jews, Ukrainians, French Canadians), musical folklore, social folklore (children’s jokes, urban graffiti), and related topics. In addition, there are recordings on audio cassettes and audio reels of Scottish folk songs and customs, old-time fiddling, songs of the Scottish regiment and of other subjects.

The fonds consists of manuscript and typescript drafts of Eliza Clark's work, personal and professional correspondence, copies of articles by or about Clark and other material that documents her career as a writer.

The fonds mainly documents Ernesto Vinci's career as a singer and his activities as a voice teacher at the Halifax Ladies College and Conservatory of Music, the University of Toronto, and at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Records found from 1999 onwards are of the more personal variety and include personal and family correspondence between Vinci and his wife, and Vinci and his parents and parents-in-law, and other relatives during the 1930s as they tried to escape Germany. There is some correspondence regarding Vinci's efforts to sponsor his sister-in-law and niece after the Second World War.

File consists of correspondence with Rohinton Mistry's British publisher regarding four repackaged backlist titles, promotion of Mistry's books in India, the Neustadt Prize, the design of book covers, and the work of author Akhil Sharma.

Fonds consists of materials created and accumulated by George Papadatos in the course of his activities as a member of the Toronto Greek Canadian political, arts and cultural community while living in exile in Canada during the Greek military junta of 1967-1974. It includes records relating to his work as a journalist and newspaper editor (as editor of Metanastis and contributor to Ta Nea, amongst other publications); political activist; music promoter, event organizer and co-owner of the Trojan Horse coffee house; East York community service worker; and as tutor of Modern Greek Studies at the University of Toronto (Scarborough College).

The fonds largely consists of photographs, newspapers, promotional material, posters, sound and video recordings. Many of these items were collected by Papadatos to document the coffee house scene on the Danforth, the Greek musical acts who toured Canada and the United States in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as student organizing and protests related to local opposition to the military dictatorship in Greece. The records reflect the impact that the cultural and political activities of the Greek community in Canada had on political affairs in Greece. The fonds also includes handwritten and typed correspondence and other printed material created or received by George Papadatos, as well as photographic material from Papadatos' later life in Greece, where he operated an antiquarian bookstore. The fonds consist of material that documents Rayfield's career as a Professor of Anthropology and, to a lesser extent, her personal life. These records, dating from 1931 to 2015, document Nasato’s early life and education in Istrana, Italy, as well as his emigration to first Argentina and then Toronto, Ontario. The records primarily pertain to Nasato’s artistic output and include several hundred drawings, sketches, paintings, and preliminary studies created over the course of his career, as well as a number of awards granted to Nasato on the basis of his artistic contributions. Many of the artistic works included in the fonds relate to projects completed in Toronto and environs, particularly to mosaic projects created by Nasato at a number of churches in the region. Fonds also includes notes on art history and artistic technique created by Nasato as both a student and professional artist, as well as miscellaneous textual and financial records pertaining to the practicalities of his artistic career. Also included in the fonds is an extensive collection of photographs and clippings, compiled by Nasato over the course of his life, most of which document works of art created by Nasato and others.

Fonds illustrates Madeleine Boss Lasserre’s career and interests as a music educator of children and adults in Toronto, Ontario. Most of the material was created between 1925 and 1977, while Lasserre was actively employed with the Margaret Eaton School and the Toronto Conservatory of Music. A small subset of the records were created outside of this time span. Records include: Dalcroze teaching and demonstration notes and diagrams; correspondence with colleagues and students; material pertaining to general early childhood education; and material related to the administration and promotion of courses in Dalcroze Eurhythmics. Fonds consists of dance notations recorded using Labanotation or Kinetography Laban, created or acquired by Mary Jane Warner and used in her work as a professor of dance. The notations take the form of manuscript symbols hand-drawn by Warner while a student at Ohio State University (including Labanotation for her dissertation), photocopies of works produced by other notators, and printed works published by the Dance Notation Bureau and the Royal Academy of Dancing. The notations are grouped according to elementary, intermediate, and advanced readings, with titles that often include the name of the choreographer and, in some cases, the notator. The works of Doris Humphrey, Ray Cook, Anthony Tudor, George Balanchine, Muriel Topaz, and Ann Hutchinson Guest figure prominently among the notations. The fonds also includes Warner’s lecture notes on the history of dance notation and Labanotation, material on teaching dance, notes for a lecture on E.A. Theleur’s "Letters on dancing : reducing this elegent and healthful exercise to easy scientific principles" (London, 1831), and programs and proceedings from various international conferences on Labanotation and Kinetography Laban.

The fonds documents Paul James Dwyer's activities as a dancer, choreographer, and writer. Records consist mainly of correspondence and subject files relating to various dance companies such as Dance Oremus Danse and the Isadora Duncan School of Modern Dance. There is some documentation on grant applications. Also included are dance programmes, Dwyer's published articles and photographs of colleagues such as Jeanne Bresciani, Lori Belliveau, Nadia Chilkovsky, and Anita Zhan. There are video and audio recordings of interviews and dance performances. Accession 2007-059 includes correspondence with Madeleine Lytton regarding her dance career in the tradition of Isadora Duncan, correspondence and other documentation regarding the collections of books, photographs, and other material pertaining to Duncan owned by Leo and Lillian Loewenthal and Howard Holtzman, Ella Bobrow's book on Irina Odoevtseva, a program for the memorial dance performance for Hortense Kooluris, and promotional material for a wide variety of performers involved in dance, opera, and baroque music.

Fonds consists of personal diaries, teaching notes and writing, performance and family memorabilia, diplomas, correspondence, sheet music, photographs and audio recordings pertaining to the personal life and professional career of Peggie Sampson, including her early activities as a music student, her work as a professor of music, and her performances on the cello and viola da gamba. These records also document her associations with early teachers Guilhermina Suggia, Donald Francis Tovey, Nadia Boulanger and Pablo Casals, as well as her work with the Manitoba University Consort during the 1960s and the Quatre en Concert in the 1970s. The personal diaries in the fonds span Sampson's time in Edinburgh and London during World War II to her immigration to Canada in 1951 to teach at the University of Manitoba and her employment at York University from 1970 to 1977.
