Fonds consists of biographical writing, genealogical documents, published and photocopied books, scrapbooks and mementos created, collected and accumulated by Gerald A. Archambeau from various sources,including genealogical information regarding his grandfather Herbert T. Thomas, a police officer in Jamaica who was also a naturalist, lecturer and explorer. Material relating to Herbert T. Thomas is photocopied and scanned pamphlets, online articles and newspaper articles of material originally published from 1881 to about 1927 and relates primarily to Thomas' campaign to eradicate the practice of obeha in Jamaica.

Accession consists of material documenting the career of Archie Alleyne as a musician, philanthropist, and influential figure in the Toronto jazz music scene. Material includes collected material on other Toronto-based jazz musicians; posters, photographs, and other memorabilia from performances and events; correspondence; material related to the Archie Alleyne Scholarship Fund; notebooks; and drafts and research material for his memoir, Colour Me Jazz: The Archie Alleyne Story (2015). Audio-visual material includes recordings of jazz-related programming broadcast on television, audio interviews with jazz musicians, and released and unreleased music performances

Fonds consists of records documenting Beverley Salmon's work as an activist and as a North York and Metro Toronto Councillor. Records primarily pertain to subjects including race relations, the Toronto Transit Commission, the building of a subway to York University, and her involvement with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. Records include correspondence, agenda packages, reports, notes, news clippings, and conference material.

Fonds consists of records documenting the personal and professional experiences of Don Simpson from the 1950s to 2011 in countries around the world. Records include correspondence, notebooks, reports and toolkits, speeches, resource material, memorabilia and other records relating to his activities in a wide range of educational, social justice, development, government and business innovation organizations. Topics covered include international education and cross-cultural understanding; international development and health; the rights of Canada's Aboriginal peoples; the history of African-Canadian communities; environmental issues; innovation in business and the non-profit sector; human resources development; and economic development from Alberta to China and Africa. Fonds also consists of personal correspondence, family photographs and memorabilia relating to Simpson's personal and family life.

Fonds consists of research materials; committee records; community advocacy documentation and government policy correspondence; curriculum materials; surveys; reports; and other textual material related to the professional, volunteer, and community activities of Dr. Inez Elliston. Material relates to her professional interest in educational curriculum development, particularly in relation to multicultural policies developed at the federal and provincial levels, and how such policies were implemented in local school boards.

Fonds consists of the professional records of Jean Augustine, including documents, reports, speech notes, press releases and publications relating to her activities as a community activist and volunteer; a elementary school teacher; her administration of the Metro Toronto Housing Authority; her participation on various international, national, provincial and municipal advocacy boards organizations and associations; and her activities as a federal politician and member of cabinet.

Fonds consists of the administrative records of the Caribbean Cultural Committee created and accumulated by Kenneth Shah in his role as a founding member, including material such as correspondence; band registration forms and regulations for band competitions; constitution drafts; financial documents; meeting minutes; Shah’s sketches for parade costume designs; and program proposals. Other materials include issues of newspapers and magazines that provided media coverage of the Caribana Festival each year; Shah’s personal photo and film collection documenting Caribana and other Carnival festivals in Trinidad and Tobago, Toronto, Montreal, and New York; Shah’s mas bands throughout the years; and promotional material for Caribana such as brochures, pamphlets, festival guides, event programmes, and flyers.

Fonds consists of Professor Lorch's professorial and personal papers as a mathematician, academic, civil rights activist and humanitarian. Records document his life in all these spheres and include the following: correspondence from family, friends, academic colleagues and fellow activists; records of his legal battles at various colleges and universities in the defence of civil rights and academic freedom including challenges from the House Committee on Un-American Activities; records that document his and his wife's activism in landmark American events such as the integration of schools in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1954, and the fight for equal rights for blacks in housing in US cities; professorial records and his work as a respected mathematician and scholar; and related books, journals and pamphlets accumulated by him during his decades of work in these areas. Records have been arranged by the archivist into the following series.

Collection consists of meeting minutes, academic papers, government publications, reports, newspaper articles and clippings, books, protest ephemera, a typescript and a videocassette tape related to Wanda MacNevin’s research for the books "If Only I Knew: Stories of Teen Mothers" and "By Us! For Us! Activism in Jane Finch, A Working-Class Community" and the work of community organizations such as the Black Creek Venture Group, Jane/Finch Community and Family Centre, and Promoting Education and Community Health (PEACH).

Fonds consists of records pertaining to Yvonne Vera’s activities as a prominent African writer of English fiction and as a student and teacher of English literature while in Canada. Records include finished copies, typescripts and drafts of published and unpublished works; copies of articles written by and about Vera; personal and professional correspondence; personal memorabilia. Fonds includes a selection of books both by and belonging to Vera and a copy of the Vera biography, “Petal Thoughts,” by Ericah Gwetai. The fonds consists of items created and accumulated together by Vera and Jose, as well as mementos brought from Zimbabwe by Vera.
