File consists of newspaper clippings, statements and press releases relating to the split between the New Democratic Party and the Waffle Movement. File includes letters sent to NDP and Waffle membership respectively, with party leaders explaining to their positions to their followers as the ONDP drew closer to its June 23, 1972 meeting in Orillia, where the Waffle’s fate within the party would be decided. File also includes the February 1972 issue of tpic news/nouvelles iuc, a newsletter on planning education in Canada, which contains handwritten notes about the NDP party constitution and the state of the party if the Waffle movement was expelled. It includes statements from Waffle movements and NDP groups across Canada regarding the crisis. It also includes the ONDP’s proposed amendments to the party’s provincial constitution. File also includes blank riding forms for ONDP delegates attending party meetings.
