2003-060/008(8) Drummond Island/St. Joseph's Island/Penetanguishene. The British Loyalists who inhabited Mackinac Island were obliged to leave by the Treaty of Ghent that ended the War of 1812. In 1815 they moved to Drummond Island which the British subsequently agreed, was in American territory. The British settlers left their new home in 1826 and reestablished themselves at Penetanguishene and St. Joseph Island. File

Joans, and Englishman who arrived in New Orleans about 1830, was editor and proprieter of the Mercantile Advertiser, and married Isabella the daughter of Levi Jacobs on 5 May 1832. He left New Orleans by March 1834. Benjamin, and Englishman who was later founder of the Belleville Intelligencer, arrived in New Orleans about 1830, and married Isabella, the daughter of Lipman Jacobs 5 Febrary, 1832. He left New Orleans and arrived in York, U.C. by the end of 1833. File
