    Biographical history

    Arthur Hunt Chute, writer, was born in Illinois and grew up in Halifax and Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and attended Acadia University. His respect for the sea, the people who worked on it, and his taste for travel and adventure were reflected in both his fiction and his journalism.

    Custodial history

    Found in a copy of Far Gold which had been the property of William Arthur Deacon and donated to Scott Library at York University (PS 8505 H87 F3 1927).

    Scope and content

    File consists of one letter from Arthur Chute to William Arthur Deacon, dated October 1927, and a photocopy of a review of Arthur Chute's book Far Gold .
