      General note

Each slide is numbered by Professor Warkentin, the first number refers to the map number in the book, “Creating memory,” and the second to the site number. If there is more than one photogrpah of each sculpture, often taken years apart, the slides of each sculpture are arranged chronolgically. Some photographs show the area near a particular sculpture, and not necessarily the culpture itself. These slides are given the additional indentifer “C”, for context. Some photographs are of sculptures erected since the book was published, and so are not described in the volume. These are placed under the appropriate MAP (site) and labelled by map number and the letters “AD”, for additional.
